Purcell

St Peter's Cathedral, North Adelaide
8pm Saturday October 29 2011

Henry Purcell composed some of English music’s most beautiful and elegant works.  A composer of sacred and secular works he is closely associated with royalty through his compositions for the Coronation of James II, Birthday Ode and Funeral Music for Queen Mary II.  He is considered to be one of the greatest English composers; no other native born English composer approached his fame until Elgar. Together with orchestra and soloists Samantha Mack, Matthew Rutty and Alan McKie, Graduate Singers will perform a selection of some of Purcell's well known and most beautiful works - a performance not to be missed.

Featuring:
